Wonderful accommodations, food and instructor. I found the retreat to be renewing and I look forward to returning in the future.

What a wonderful experience—the best gift to give yourself if you’re looking to immerse yourself in art, meet other artists, and treat yourself to a getaway in a beautiful setting. Diane Kappa is a super talented and prolific artist, a thoughtful and enthusiastic teacher, and an engaging and fun person. The inn is lovely—a work of art in itself. You will have beautiful, thoughtfully prepared, delicious meals. I loved being around other artists for five whole days. Now I’m inspired and motivated to keep going with what I learned!

The block printing & collage retreat with Diane Kappa was a wonderful and inspiring experience! Diane was an excellent instructor, making the process enjoyable, creative, and accessible. The accommodations and venue at the Connecticut River Valley Inn were absolutely beautiful. The location provided the perfect setting for a relaxing and creative getaway. Inn owners Pat and Wayne, along with their entire team, went above and beyond to be make sure all participants were comfortable. They were all thoughtful, and attentive to every detail. The food was fantastic. The warm hospitality made the entire experience feel special. The workshop participants were super fun to be around and I appreciated connecting with other female artists. I enjoyed my experience so much that I signed up for a second art retreat which was occurring right after the block printing workshop. I was lucky to get into the second workshop and also extend my stay at the Inn. I highly recommend future retreats and this location to anyone looking for a memorable blend of creativity, relaxation, and outstanding hospitality!

Artist’s Rising retreats are inspiring and immersive. The property and grounds are beautiful and cozy. The owner’s and staff make you feel welcome and at home. The meals included in this retreat were creatively presented and tasty. Sharon Collins had the week packed with creative projects. She used a measured approach to step us into her process while offering ways we could make it our own. The garden art studio is full of light and openness. I’ve attended two Artist’s Rising retreats at the Conneticut River Valley Inn. I hope to come back for more. It’s truly an amazing and special place. Thank you!

I just returned with my good friend, Sandy, from an art retreat in Connecticut. For years we have wanted to go to art camp together and we finally made it!! We spent 5 days learning all kinds of techniques with an emphasis on linocut and collage. Within a day the 10 of us were fast friends, sharing ideas, walks and some after hours shenanigans. Diane Kappa Designs is an incredible instructor, engaging, kind, and full of ideas. The hosts at Connecticut River Valley Inn treated us like family.
