I am a die-hard New Englander
So we bought a beautiful historic property in the center
of a very historic town, Glastonbury with direct river access...
Spent years rennovating...
Transformed this tired property into a showpiece of
Art, design and gardens...
Made a home and business reflecting my design style...

This retreat was magical! Everything about it was wonderful. The art lessons still have me buzzing with creative ideas even two weeks later. Roben-Marie was the most generous teacher and had the most fun and inspiring projects. The art building was full of huge walls of windows, so the lighting was great and it was so awesome to be able to stay on site at the gorgeous Inn too! The food was amazing (breakfasts and lunches), the rooms were beautiful and the people (Pat and Teri) were genuinely happy to welcome us and made our whole stay wonderful. The town of Glastonbury was also great. There were tons of great restaurants and shops within .3-.5 mile walks. I will definitely be checking the schedule of art retreats to come back again!
I enjoyed my room (the garden room), it was beautifully decorated, comfortable & had my own entrance!
The Inn is quintessential New England decorated in Pat’s unique style, loved it all.
Our hosts Pat, Wayne & Teri welcomed us in, were available to answer questions & provide us with a great stay. The food was delicious & nicely presented.
Roben-Marie is a knowledgeable, encouraging, patient & generous teacher! I am so pleased to have experienced an art class with her and the amazing women who attended.
I look back on my time at Artists Rising with a full and happy heart.
The "Found and Gathered" retreat taught by Seth Apter at Artists Rising Retreats and Workshops was amazing! The grounds were so beautiful, the food was delicious and the hosts are gracious. Seth is a kind, encouraging, and inspiring teacher. I would highly recommend the retreats at Artists Rising in Glastonbury, Ct. AND of course, Seth Apter's workshops. It was just what I needed to rejuvenate my own art practice.
I had a fabulous time! Lovely accommodations and grounds, good food, super studio space. Seth is a great teacher - provides guidance and then everyone does their own thing. Would definitely return to take a workshop with him.
